Get Off My Back, man!

I’ve been getting pestered a lot by a lot of things lately!

No, not my kids.

No, not my pets.

Mostly – negative thoughts. You see, a while back I asked the Lord for 3 things – not necessarily all 3, but one of 3 things. He gave me ALL THREE!!! Nothing super extreme – but man! They have all been wonderful, I’m so thankful for them all and I’m enjoying them all!

The blessings came! But… then the enemy came. You know – those negative thoughts that put doubt in your mind and cause you to want to shrink back from the greatness you have been called to?! Yeah – they’ve been attacking hard the last few days!

This verse here has been “my” verse for almost a year now. I have it saved in my phone as a note so I can look at it as often as I like or want to. I have it written on my closet door (chalkboard paint is super rad – just sayin’!!) so I see it every day and now I share with you…

Hebrews 10:35-39(NIV)

So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what He has promised.  For,

“In just a little while,
He who is coming will come
and will not delay.” And, “But my righteous one will live by faith. And I take no pleasure in the one who shrinks back.”

But we do not belong to those who shrink back and are destroyed, but to those who have faith and are saved.

I’m not one who shrinks back! I have faith and I AM saved! The enemy comes and he will keep coming. He likes trying to sidetrack those he knows will be faithful to what the Lord calls them to do. I’m so thankful I have friends who encourage me – who know just the right thing to say at just the right time. Well, maybe they don’t know – but the Lord nudges them and they listen! Friends who share scripture with me and pray for me.

Do you have friends like that?! If not – GET SOME! NOW! I shared the above verse with a friend today after them having shared the following with me – which I have added to my closet door!!

Psalm 18:1-2 (NIV)

I love you, Lord, my strength.

The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer;
my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge,
my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

So, I told the enemy to get off my back today. I have joy! I am happy and I’m not gonna succoumb to the netativity he likes to throw around like a monkey flinging poo!! Yeah – I’ll be down from time to time. It happens. I’m a moody, emotional, human girl – but I have amazingly wonderful friends whom I love dearly who remind me of the good – and remind me (even if not with the exact words) to tell the enemy to get off my back!

Today I pray you are encouraged. I pray you are lifted up and that you can see the Son through the clouds of life. This hope I have – this salvation – it costs everything – anger, sadness, frustration, death and hell – but you gain it all! It’s not easy living for Jesus, but it’s SOOOO worth it! I also pray that if you don’t know the joy of living for Jesus, that you will come to know it – SOON! <3
