Eleven Years Ago Today, I Became Mama

Eleven years ago this night I was in a hospital with my first baby who was just 12 hours old.

She was tiny, precious and perfect. Seven pounds, four ounces and twenty inches of pure perfection, unspoiled by the ugly of this world. My Zoe has been through a lot in her 11 years with the last 2 being the hardest, but my beautiful girl chooses to live for Jesus, which makes my heart sing.

So, Zoe (not that she reads this haha!) keep living for Jesus. It’s not easy. Not easy at all, but so worth it. Don’t be selfish and make selfish choices. Make the right choices. They are always the hardest choices, but always the best choices.

Remember you are loved. So loved by me, your mama who’s heart swells with undying love for you. I know your daddy loves you, too. Please don’t let our ugly circumstances ever cause you to believe he doesn’t. Because he does, kiddo. Remember you are so very beautiful. Inside and out.

Remember that you will make mistakes. We all do- just make sure you reach out to your Daddy in Heaven and He will always pick you up. Don’t stop dreaming or using that wild imagination of yours! I know sometimes I look at you like you’re crazy- and you are! We both are! So let’s be our own brands of crazy together! Kinda like mixing Frosted Flakes with Fruity Pebbles!!

My girl, don’t ever, ever let anyone stop you from being who God wants you to be. When you know the path He has for you, don’t go another way without some serious prayer and Godly counsel. Live for Jesus, beautiful girl. That’s all that counts!!! I love you to the next galaxy and back and then some more!!!!
